Are you interested in learning what mindfulness is and how it can benefit you?

Does your mind race? Do you wonder if it will ever calm down?

Do you want to practice mindfulness, but you’re not quite sure how to get started?

Overview

We’ve all heard a lot about mindfulness, but what exactly is it? Mindfulness is the ability to be fully aware of what is going on in the present moment. Even if it’s just for a moment! We can choose to pause and become aware of where we are, what we’re doing and how we’re feeling. As we develop our awareness, we’re better able to engage with the world and not react to it. Mindfulness practice, called “practice” because it helps us to practice for real life, includes sitting and walking meditation and other techniques that can help you experience more presence in your daily life.

what to expect

This six-week course will teach basic mindfulness concepts and core skills, with lots of opportunities to practice and share Q & A about one’s own experiences.

By practicing these simple techniques, you can:

  • Be more present in your life at work and at home

  • Reduce your reactivity to stressful situations

  • Build your capacity to communicate and connect with others

  • Offer yourself kindness and compassion in times of challenge

  • Find more happiness in everyday life
